Had been questioning myself lately,

“Do I love myself?”

Tried so hard to be loved by others,

Forgot to love myself

So focused on social media

Forgot my reality

So focused on running after people

Forgot to check my sanity

Spent hours on Instagram

Made friends online

Forgot about my family

Who were truly mine

Usual brown eyes, A pretty big nose

Pimples and acne, hard to accept

Creeping in a dark place, couldn’t see the light

All those tears, I just couldn’t wipe

Tackled insecurities

Took the baby steps

I’ve really gotten better

The waves really ebbed

“Do you love yourself?

Or live for everyone else?”

Ask that question to yourself

And you’ll be out of this mess
